In der Zeit von 8. bis 10. Mai fand an mehreren Örtlichkeiten in Berlin die internationale Tagung „A Minor Cosmopolitan Intervention 2025“ statt, die von der Universität Potsdam organisiert wurde.

Das mehrtätige Programm umfasste Podiumsdiskussionen, Panels mit Vorträgen, Filmvorführungen, eine Ausstellung sowie Diskussionen mit Filmenmachern, Wissenschaftlern und Aktivisten. Zusammen mit Mikko Myllyntauswta und Sebastian Jablonsiki gestalteten wir das Panel mit dem Titel „Waving Webs across the World: Networks of Knowledge from the Pacific to Finnland and Germany in the long 19th Century“. In dem von Sebastian Jablonski organisierten Panel durfte ich einen Vortag halten, desssen Tiel folgendermaßen lautete: „Transfigured images, distorted messages: stereotypical representations of the South Seas in popular media … and how they shaped the image of the South Pacific in Imperial Germany“.
